There are LOTS of great series and comedies on Netflix. But if you’re looking to change it up a bit there are some great documentaries as well. In particular we are enjoying watching food and health films and learning a lot in the process! Out of the all of the ones we’ve watched below are our top picks. Have you watched any of these? Food Choices – A documentary that covers a variety of topics that ranging from the impact of food on people’s health, the impact of our food choices on our planet, several misconceptions about food and diet.
Forks over Knives – “Researchers explore the possibility that people changing their diets from animal-based to plant-based can help eliminate or control diseases like cancer and diabetes.”
Prescription Thugs – “BIGGER FASTER STRONGER, director Chris Bell turns exposes the modern day abuse of prescription drugs.”
Cooked – With episodes with names like “Air” and “Water” all the different cooking methods are explored in this short series.
Food, Inc. – “Corporations have taken over all aspects of the food chain in the United States, from the farms where our food is grown to the chain restaurants and supermarkets where it’s sold.”
Super Size Me – Attempting to survive on only food from McDonalds, the Director Morgan Spurlock investigates the effect of fast food on his health, energy, and waistline!
Fed Up – “Filmmaker Stephanie Soechtig and journalist Katie Couric investigate how the American food industry may be responsible for more sickness than previously realized.”
Cowspiracy – You will be shocked at the effects of raising cattle on the environment.
